Help little ones count down the sleeps until their FIFO parent walks back through the door with this hand-finished timber countdown calendar, purpose-built for small hands and big anticipation.
Crafted from 3mm plywood, this tabletop piece features an engraved numeral bar running from your chosen swing length down to zero, paired with a sliding tracker so your child can physically move the marker each day — turning an abstract wait into something they can see and touch. A laser-engraved truck and house icon bookend the journey, visually marking “away” and “home” for pre-readers, while a custom name or title (e.g. “Days Until Dad Is Home”) sits proudly across the base in raised, hand-painted lettering.
Details:
• Made from 3mm premium timber ply
• Custom name/title, raised and hand-painted
• Sliding day-marker with engraved numeral bar
• Engraved icon detailing (customisable to suit your family)
• Freestanding tabletop design with stable base
• Available in swing lengths to suit your roster (e.g. 7, 14, 21, 28 days)
Perfect for: FIFO, DIDO and defence families wanting a gentle, tactile way to help children understand and anticipate a parent’s return - and a beautiful keepsake that becomes part of the homecoming ritual itself.
Each piece is made to order in our studio, finished by hand to match your family’s story.
